Classroom

Femi Hollinger-Janzen has earned Academic All-Big honors in each of the last two seasons (freshmen aren’t eligible). Majoring in recreational sport management, he is on track to graduate in May 2016.

Character

Hollinger-Janzen is a member of the Hoosier Hero program, through which he helps other student-athletes at IU make the transition to college. This includes helpful acts such as showing them where classes are located on campus or where the various resources can be found. He also took part in a program called Emerging Leaders, in which he learned new skills regarding how to be a leader and how to promote leadership in the classroom and on the field.

Community

Hollinger-Janzen is heavily involved with his church in his hometown and helps reach out to the church’s elderly members. He has volunteered with the local Boy’s and Girl’s Club, spending an hour after school with elementary kids, and has volunteered at a local food bank. Hollinger-Janzen also has sorted clothes at a clothing bank and, through his youth group back home, he has made trips across the United States to help package items for distribution to children in need around the world.

Competition

Hollinger-Janzen was a first-team All-Big Ten selection as a junior and was named second-team All-Region by the NSCAA. He was second on the team in goals scored while helping the Hoosiers to the No. 1 RPI ranking during the 2014 season.
