For the second consecutive academic year, Aristeguieta earned a 4.0 grade point average. Overall, Aristeguieta stands at a 3.92 GPA with a major in finance. Following the successful completion of the fall semester, he will complete his degree a full semester early, which speaks to his hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence in the classroom. He was offered membership into the elite Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, which recognizes academic achievement in the study of business.

Character

Aristeguieta is highly regarded as an exceptional leader by his teammates - so much that he has been named team captain for the past two years. He expects not only great things from himself but also from his teammates. The example he sets on the field and in the classroom is undeniable for other student-athletes.

Community

Aristeguieta has participated in National Student-Athlete Day – “A Day in the Life of a USF Student-Athlete.”  He and other members of the USF athletics family played host to more than 100 students from Carrollwood Day school.  The newest “recruits” where given access to facilities and given a glimpse into the life of a USF student-athlete. In addition, he took part in the Salvador Dali Museum Hispanic Heritage Festival and the 2007 Stampede of Service, which is a campus-wide initiative aimed at beautifying the Tampa Bay area.

Competition

Aristeguieta’s athletic skills were put on display last year in all 23 contests that the Bulls participated in during the season.  He was one of the main contributors in the Bulls’ 2008 Big East title run. His 2,079 accumulated minutes of playing time in 2008 was tops on his team.  Additionally, Aristeguieta was named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Three Team and also invited to train with the Venezuelan National Team in Atlanta this past summer.
