After completing his undergraduate degree at Detroit Mercy, Weaver will look to gain entrance into medical school and eventually is looking to be an orthopedic or sports medicine doctor. He’s part of the campus service fraternity at Detroit Mercy called Alpha Phi Omega (APO) as well as the pre-med club on campus.

Weaver worked at Detroit Mercy’s Student Success Center, which provides quality, student-centered academic support services, more than 10 hours each week throughout the year.

Community

Off campus, Weaver has volunteered at nearby Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, assisting in the emergency room since November 2018 and, following soccer, will be more heavily involved in the medical field. For two summers, Weaver was part of the General Motors Student Corps, through which he mentored high school students in Detroit, along with executing and creating community service projects around the city. Most recently, he worked with and mentored eight kids at Northwestern High School in Metro Detroit.

Through his leadership minor, has helped at several co-campus events such as freshmen move-in-day and graduation as well as with leadership minor recruitment.

Competition

Weaver has been a staple on the back line for three seasons for the Titans, starting 49 of 52 games during his Detroit Mercy career, including all 37 matches in the past two seasons. Weaver has started the last 48 games for Detroit Mercy entering the 2019 season. He’s led the Titans in minutes played in both 2017 and 2018, playing 3,446 of a possible 3,492 minutes combined in the past two men’s soccer campaigns. In 2018 he was the only Titan to start all 18 matches, leading squad in minutes played (1,659) for the second-straight year.

Weaver has two goals, three assists and seven points, as well as 33 shots across his career as a back line member. He was named the team’s Co-Defensive MVP as a freshman and was also a Co-Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week that same season in 2016 after his first collegiate goal proved to be the game-winning marker in a Horizon League win.
