Grace Kauth currently owns a 3.88 GPA while majoring in marketing. Kauth was named the 2015 Horizon League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Fall, a two-time Horizon League Fall Academic Team honoree, and has earned a spot on the Cleveland State Dean’s List all six semesters of her collegiate career. She is a three-time Cleveland State Athletic Academic honoree.

Character

Kauth is the best captain in program history. She is always positive and not only leads by example, but also is a vocal leader. She is the hardest working player on the team and continually strives to better herself and her teammates. Kauth is the ideal student-athlete and is focused on completing her degree and staying on top of all of her classes and responsibilities. She is committed to excellence and will do whatever it takes to be the best at whatever she is doing.

Community

Kauth is serving as the Cleveland State SAAC President this year and has served on the Cleveland State SAAC Board as the Social Media Chair. She participates annually in the Cleveland State SAAC community service projects including Special Olympics Field Day, PB for CLE Peanut Butter Drive, LifeShare Blood Drive and Hallo Hoops. Kauth takes part in the Cleveland State volleyball team’s initiative to read with first-graders at a local elementary school throughout the year.

Competition

Kauth is a two-time Horizon League First Team honoree and led Cleveland State to a Horizon League regular season and tournament title and NCAA Tournament bid as a junior. She became the 16th Viking all-time to record 1,000 career kills as a junior and, this season, became the 17th Viking all-time to record 1,000 career digs. Kauth is one of just six Vikings all-time to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. As of nomination time, she currently anks 10th in the Cleveland State career record book with 1,177 career kills, sixth with 3.14 kills per set, fifth with 3,576 attack attempts and seventh with 3.57 points per set.
