Hallie Thome is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, majoring in communications with a minor in a sales and marketing through the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

Character

Thome is one of the senior leaders on this Michigan women’s basketball team, embracing her opportunity to influence the younger members of the team. There are six newcomers to the Maize and Blue this season, with Thome stepping up to make sure everyone is always on the same page. She spends extra time in the gym, working to improve her individual game while setting an example for her younger teammates.

Community

Thome is active in the community, most notably making visits up to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. She also has volunteered with the ChadTough Foundation. Thome also makes sure to sign autographs and take pictures with younger fans who seek her out after games.

Competition

Thome is on the verge of becoming just the third 2,000-point scorer in school history, entering her final season with 1,679 career points. She is the program’s career leader in field goal percentage (62.0) and has been named to the All-Big Ten First Team twice (2017, 2018). She picked up WBCA All-America Honorable Mention honors as a junior after averaging 17.4 ppg and 7.0 rpg.

Thome has helped Michigan to three straight postseason appearances, highlighted by making the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Thome picked up WNIT All-Tournament honors in 2017 after helping U-M capture the first postseason championship in program history.
