Classroom

Jumper has maintained a 3.634 cumulative grade point average (as of Fall 2011) while majoring in psychology and minoring in business leadership (within the McIntire School of Commerce) at the University of Virginia. He has made the Dean’s List (3.4 or above) every semester that he has been enrolled at UVa. Jumper has been named to the All-ACC Academic soccer team for three consecutive seasons and to the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District second team in 2010. He was named to the 2010-11 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Character

In the words of the Virginia coaching staff, Jumper is a goal-oriented leader. He epitomizes what a student-athlete at the University of Virginia is, and he has achieved much success both on and off the field. Jumper is described by Phillip Gates (Life Skills Director) as an excellent role model. He has excellent communication and people skills and is reliable, organized and responsible.

Community

Jumper is very involved in Charlottesville and the University of Virginia community. He is a member of the Student Advisory Athletic Council (SAAC). He has been an active participant in the following community service projects: Shoot Out For Cancer, Men’s Soccer Blood Drive, Carnival Night at a local elementary school and Special Olympics skill sessions. Finally, Jumper volunteers at the Sole Roll Indoor Soccer Center.

Competition

Jumper was a member of the 2009 NCAA and ACC champion Virginia men’s soccer team. He was a 2010 and 2009 ACC All-Tournament team member and is the only active player to consecutively start every game since his freshman year (62-62). Jumper has anchored a Cavalier defense that posted 17 shutouts in 2009. He has scored three goals and tallied nine assists in his career, including one game-winning goal and three game-winning assists.
