Classroom

Choy was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Selection in 2009. He has a cumulative GPA of 3.52 in economics with concentration in finance. Choy is a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team Selection. He will graduate in the spring of 2010 and may pursue an MBA following graduation.

Character

Choy is a co-captain of the Canisius baseball team. He is also a representative on his school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a squad leader during the baseball team’s ROTC training.

Community

Choy has participated in several community service projects, including working on a Habitat for Humanity build and delivering meals to the elderly and shut-ins through Meals on Wheels. He is a certified trainer in TIPS (training for intervention procedures) and has also worked at hometown church of St. Hilary’s.

Competition

Choy was an all-MAAC first-team selection in 2009 and 2007 and begins this season as a preseason All-MAAC Selection in 2010. He was the 2007 MAAC Rookie of the Year and a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American. He has a .335 career batting average (11th all-time) with 173 hits (third all-time) and a .438 career on-base percentage. His .478 on-base percentage from 2009 ranks fifth all-time in school history.
