Classroom

Mann holds a 3.52 grade-point average in his chosen major of Economics, with a Spanish minor. The Smyrna, Ga. native was named to the 2013 Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team and 2013 NABC Honors Court. Moreover, Mann was named to the 2013 OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, after twice earning Academic All-Conference honors during the Bruins’ time in the Atlantic Sun. Mann has earned Dean’s List Honors - emblematic of a term GPA of 3.50 or higher - four semesters of his collegiate career.

Character

Mann holds numerous leadership positions on campus, and has received national honors for his initiative and dedication. Mann is currently executive vice president of the Belmont Ambassadors, a campus student group which welcomes visitors and dignitaries to the university. Mann also serves as co-president of the Belmont University chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). In March of 2013, Mann received the prestigious Peach of an Athlete Award, handed out annually by the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America to amateur and professional athletes from the state of Georgia who live as positive role models for young people. Mann is vice president of the Belmont Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) which organizes community service projects and fundraisers in the Nashville area. The 6-6 guard/forward also is a member of Enactus - an extension of the Belmont entrepreneurship program which creates and implements community empowerment projects in areas of need. Named team captain by his Belmont teammates leading into the 2013-14 season, Mann is a member of the Belmont Future Alumni Advisory Committee which provides insight and suggestions for programming, communication and engagement among campus publics.

Community

While balancing academics and athletics, Mann’s commitment to and passion for community service is remarkable. For three years, Mann has served as an activities leader for the Nashville Best Buddies Program - which fosters relationships with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mann has accompanied Belmont’s Sports Evangelism Mission Trip groups to Italy and Haiti, serving in local communities and using sports to connect and spread the gospel message. Mann is a tutor and group leader at nearby Carter Lawrence Elementary School, and is a regular volunteer at the Nashville Rescue Mission, serving meals and bussing tables. Mann has volunteered at Nashville Special Olympics and regularly visits hospitals and churches. Mann was named to the 2013 Allstate NABC Good Works Team, recognizing five NCAA Division I men’s basketball student-athletes for outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement.

Competition

On the court, Mann has led Belmont to an 83-20 record over the past three seasons, directing the Bruins to three NCAA Tournament appearances, three conference tournament championships and three conference regular season championships. Mann has 42 career double figure scoring games, and helped Belmont earn a final RPI of 24 last season. He ranked second in the Ohio Valley Conference in steals per game, and in the top 10 in three-point field goals per game and three-point field goal percentage. He is on pace to rank among the Belmont career leaders in three-point field goals, steals, and free throw percentage. Mann was named 2011 Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team.

Mann scored a career-high 28 points – including nine points in the final 1:02 and the game-winning three-pointer – at No. 11 North Carolina on November 17. For his efforts, Mann was named National Player of the Week by CBSSports.com and NBCSports.com. December 1 against No. 24 VCU, Mann went over 1,000 career points. He also a candidate for the Wooden Citizenship Cup.
