Classroom

Shaw, a sport administration major, boasts a 3.90 GPA at Belmont. During his first year on campus in 2019-20, he earned SoCon Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Commissioner’s Medal, and other awards for carrying a 4.0 GPA.

For the last year, Shaw has interned with Nashville SC’s scouting department, helping identify and vet potential player prospects. His career interests include working in the sports industry, either as a team executive or sports agent.

Character

Shaw worked on the University of Wisconsin Student Athlete Advisory Council, contributing as both a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Marketing Committee from August 2016-May 2019.

He also served on the Belmont University Student Athlete Advisory Committee, contributing in founding the Athletic Department’s first Diversity & Inclusion Council in the form of Preparing Athletes for Cultural Connection (P.A.C.C).

Shaw has served as a leadership member of the P.A.C.C. since May of 2020.

Community

Shaw was a volunteer for Saturday Science at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery with University of Wisconsin Athletics in February of 2018.

In addition, he volunteered at soccer clinics in the local Madison area throughout the Spring of 2017 as a representative of the University of Wisconsin men’s soccer team. He assisted in organizing University of Wisconsin student-athlete visits to local Madison elementary schools and participated in student-athlete pen pal programs with a local elementary student from September-December 2018.

Competition

Shaw helped Belmont to its first SoCon Tournament semifinal appearance in school history in 2019.

He has started 18 out of 19 games in his first season as a Bruin, logging three goals and an assist in 1,500 minutes on the pitch.
