Classroom

Pullen is a social science major with an emphasis on criminology. He is on pace to graduate in May and would like to continue on in school with his ultimate goal of becoming a crime scene investigator.

Character

Pullen will become the first player in school history to be a three-time captain. A virtual starter since his freshman season, Pullen has played in 104 consecutive games, including 71 straight starts, entering his senior season. He’s a leader in practice and games and has become a coach on the floor and leader in the locker room. Pullen has shown excellent communication with staff and is a liaison between the staff and the rest of the team. He exhibits professional, responsible characteristics and has made tremendous growth as a four-year player. He has led the Wildcats to three consecutive 20-win seasons and two NCAA tournament appearances.

Community

Pullen is involved with several community-service projects, including Read to Achieve, SAAC Special Olympics Sports Clinic, 9/11 visit to Fort Riley, spring picnic at Manhattan Retirement Center, Junior Wildcat Fantasy Day and Walk for Unity, which benefits the Manhattan Special Olympics. He also visits local elementary schools to talk to students about the importance of education, delivers dictionaries to local elementary schools and has served as a camp counselor for Frank Martin Basketball Camps and Kansas Reads.

Competition

Pullen is the Big 12’s preseason player of the year after receiving several All-American honors following his junior season, including third team honors from The Sporting News and honorable mention from The Associated Press and Yahoo! Sports. He became just the second Wildcat player to earn first-team All-Big 12 honors since the league’s inception in 1996. Pullen is an all-around player as he averaged 19.3 points per game and also made the Big 12’s all-defensive team. He enters his senior season ranking in the top 10 in 12 career categories at K-State, including scoring, three-point field goals made, steals and assists.
