A founding member of Arizona football’s chapter of Uplifting Athletes, Fischer is also an Arizona Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member.

Fischer was a member of the 2013 Lott Award Watch List and the 2013 Bednarik Award Watch List. He played in 39 games and has never missed a game in his competitive seasons (redshirted in 2011). Named 2012 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention he was also a two-time Pac-12 Player of the Week. The 2012 team leader in tackles with 119 (76 solo and 43 assisted) averaged 9.15 tackles per game and was third on the team in TFL with 6.5 for 16 yards. He forced three and recovered four fumbles and had career-high 14 tackles in the 59-38 win over No. 18 Oklahoma State.
