James Belshaw





Belshaw is an outstanding student, carrying a 3.5 GPA over the course of his career. A history major, Belshaw has been named to the All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll in each of his three seasons and most recently was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America second team.


Belshaw is an outstanding leader on and off the field. He is a two-year captain for the Blue Devils and has represented the University on various committees in both the ACC and nationally. Belshaw is one of the most well-liked student-athletes on campus and is very involved in all aspects of being a student at Duke University. He goes above and beyond to be involved in many different aspects of campus.


Belshaw and his teammates visit Durham elementary schools to teach soccer to kids. He represents Duke in many capacities both in the Durham community as well as within the national and ACC leadership and community organizations.


Belshaw has started all 60 games in goal during his career. One of the top goalies in the ACC, he was named to the All-ACC first team in 2011 and to the All-ACC second team in 2010. He has earned NSCAA All-South Region honors in each of his three seasons and was the Duke Nike Invitational MVP as a sophomore.
