Jenny Green

Classroom

Jenny Green carries a 3.924 cumulative GPA and was named to the 2008 and 2009 Summit League Fall Academic All-League Team. She received the 2009-10 Western Illinois Student-Athlete Provost Award.

Character

Green was a team captain in 2009 and will continue that roll in 2010. Her head coach calls her “The rock of our team, a great leader and a great role model.” Her career goal is to be a special education teacher in a low-income neighborhood to make an impact in the lives of inner-city children.

Community

Green has participated in Western Illinois’ “Rocky’s Reach” grade-school program, which provides the opportunity for student-athletes to spend time with children at local grade schools. She also participated in the “Shaymus Relays”—an event to raise money for Shaymus Guinn (son of head coach Tony Guinn) in his battle against cancer. She has participated in the Relay for Life, volunteers as a youth soccer coach and has worked on various community service projects with her church.

Competition

Green was named to the 2009 Summit League All-Tournament Team and was a 2009 first-team All-Summit League selection and 2008 second-team conference selection. She was named as team MVP in 2009 and has scored six goals and tallied three assists in two seasons at Western.
