Jeremiah Gutjahr is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree (2016, 2017).

Character

Gutjahr has been a leader on the pitch for the Hoosiers since arriving. He helps organize team events off the field and organize practices in the offseason.

Community

Throughout his collegiate career, Gutjahr, a member of SAAC, has been involved in community service events and causes including the following: Salvation Army, Community Kitchen, Banneker Center, Boys & Girls Club, Children Therapy Center and Read Across America Day. He also participates in Hoosier Heroes, which is a program that helps freshmen student-athletes get acclimated to student life, and helps his former club team (Cutters Soccer Club) with training sessions.

Competition

As of nomination time, Gutjahr has appeared in 51 matches with 25 career starts. A leader on the field, he has totaled one goal and two assists.

In 2017, he started all 10 matches in which he appeared before suffering a season-ending injury and was named to the Big Ten Preseason Honors List.

As a sophomore, he appeared in 20 matches, earning 11 starts, earning one goal and one assist on the season. He scored his first career goal in a 2-2 draw at Ohio State and tallied an assist in Indiana’s 2-1 win at No. 2 Louisville.
