Classroom

Fredette is an American studies major. He has helped BYU receive Academic Progress Rate recognition in each of the last three seasons.

Character

Fredette is a team captain this year. He is a very hard worker who is focused and he leads by example.

Community

Fredette is an approachable athlete in the community. He is always willing to interact with fans of all ages and he shares positive values with young fans. Fredette embraces the opportunity to be a role model and is an excellent representative of the basketball program and the university with the media. He is an active participant in the Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation. In the summer of 2009 he went on a service trip to Nicaragua with other BYU student-athletes.

Competition

As a junior Fredette earned five All-America honors after leading the Cougars in scoring (22.1 points per game) and assists (4.7 apg). He was named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team and was also honored as USBWA District VIII Player of the Year. In the MWC, he ranked in the top 10 in eight categories and nationally was 7th in scoring and 12th in free throw percentage. He enters his senior season on the preseason Wooden Award watch list.
