Character

Koval is one of the most respected players on the team, as evidenced by the fact that he has been chosen by coaches and his teammates as the team’s captain for the 2013 season.

Community

Koval and his teammates have made their mark with the local community with frequent visits to elementary schools as well as to the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. This past season Koval and teammates attended the Lucille Packard NICU Reunion where they visited with patients, teaching them soccer skills and playing mini-games with the kids.

Competition

On the pitch Koval has been one of Stanford’s most durable players in the midfield, starting 52 of 53 matches over his first three seasons. In 2012 he was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention as he scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others, and even contributed to a Cardinal defense that allowed just 23 goals on the year (1.24 per game). He helped the Cardinal to a 9-8-1 record and a third-place finish in the Pac-12 in 2012.
