Classroom

Dalgarno, who is expected to earn his degree in Family Resource Management: Consumer Affairs this spring, is a two-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and has earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. He is looking to get into sales, coaching or firefighting after graduation from Ohio State.

Character

Dalgarno was selected by his teammates as a co-captain for his senior year. He leads by example and puts a lot on his shoulders in terms of the team’s success, quickly taking accountability after making a mistake on the field. Following each practice, Dalgarno and his co-captain, Scott Matthews, hand out the “Hardest Worker Award” to one of their teammates. They decide who the award goes to and prior to handing it out, they talk about the individual, giving them encouragement and helping to keep team morale high.

Community

Dalgarno has spent time working at the Ronald McDonald house in Columbus, helped rebuild a playground and participates in reading to schoolchildren.

Competition

Dalgarno was a USILA honorable mention All-American in 2008, is a two-time first team All-Great Western Lacrosse League selection and was the 2006 GWLL Newcomer of the Year. He has started every game of his Buckeye career and has at least one point in 45-of-46 games. Just two games into his senior season, he already is tied for second in program history in points and ranks in the Top 7 in career goals and assists. He leads the team with seven goals and nine points two games into 2009. Last season, he was a member of the first Buckeye squad to to reach the NCAA tournament quarterfinals. He is a two-time Team Offensive MVP.
