Wilson graduated from the University of Alabama in August of 2008 with a degree in marketing and commerce and business administration. He is currently pursuing another degree in general studies with an emphasis on financial planning.
Character
Wilson is a leader on and off the field for the Crimson Tide in both actions and deeds. A charismatic quarterback that is expected to lead the Alabama offense, Wilson has started 28 consecutive games for the Crimson Tide as a three-year starter.
Community
John Parker Wilson has been heavily involved in the Angel Tree Project during his time at the University of Alabama. He visited the children at the Shreveport hospital during the Tide’s Independence Bowl preparations and has made multiple appearances at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. Wilson returned to his elementary school to deliver a speech during their fifth-grade graduation ceremony this past spring and spoke at the Hillcrest Middle School football banquet.
Competition
John Parker Wilson is one of the most prolific quarterback in Alabama history. He was named to the 2008 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Watch List and is also on the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the nation’s top all-around football player. Wilson is the Crimson Tide’s all-time leader in pass completions and attempts along with total plays and is just a few hundred yards away from becoming the all-time passing yardage leader as well. He also owns single-season records for attempts, completions, passing yards, touchdowns, and total offense. John won the school’s 2008 Johnny Musso Most Outstanding Offensive Back Award following spring practice.
