Classroom

Jonathan Campbell has been an outstanding student during his time at North Carolina, and that culminated last fall when he was named a first-team Academic All-America selection. He also was named a UNC Top-10 Scholar-Athlete for the 2014-15 school year, while also earning NSCAA Scholar All-Region honors, and was selected to the All-ACC Academic Team for the third-straight year. He is in the honors program at UNC as a business administration major.

Character

Campbell is a SAAC representative at North Carolina and was named a Tar Heel Leader of Distinction (the UNC leadership academy’s highest honor) in 2014-15.

Community

Campbell and his teammates have been active with Stop Hunger Now, a non-profit group that aids in food distribution to combat hunger issues on a global scale. He has instructed bilingual children at the Frank Porter Graham Bilingual School through Costa Rica Global Immersion Elective and has volunteered at local youth soccer clinics through SAAC.

Competition

Campbell has twice earned All-ACC honors as both a sophomore and junior and recently received preseason All-America plaudits in advance of his senior campaign in 2015. Considered one of the finest defenders in all of college soccer, he has earned all-region honors at UNC and was a Freshman All-America selection going back to his first season with the Tar Heels. Campbell has helped guide North Carolina to the NCAA Championship each of the last three years and twice advanced to the quarterfinals.
