Community

Castellanos is active in the Jacksonville area. He volunteers for community service projects with his team, such as working with the soccer DSA (Down Syndrome Association) of Jacksonville to help run soccer clinics for local kids, as well as helping organize UNF’s annual refugee clinic. He also worked two consecutive summers for the Derek Marinatos Soccer Academy, through which he was in charge of coaching and running his own groups of 9-11 year-olds, teaching kids the game of soccer as the group leader.

Competition

Castellanos is one of the most competitive players on the team. He has a tremendous work ethic and was named first-team all-conference and second-team all-region in 2016, as well as preseason all-conference in 2017. He won UNF’s team competition in the spring as the player with the most wins on the team in training, and he entered this season on a number of professional teams’ watch lists.
