Classroom

Tiller carries a 2.86 grade point average and is set to graduate in four years in May 2010 with a degree in business administration.  He is actively involved on campus and performed a summer internship with AFLAC.  Tiller is a Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll member and has been given the MU Unsung Hero Award and the Total Person Program Academic Achievement Award.

Character

Tiller is a first-class student-athlete on and off the court.  He represents three cores of Mizzou perfectly, - academic integrity, social responsibility and athletic excellence.  Coming from a military family, Tiller is the first to volunteer for community involvement opportunities and is a member of the Downtown Baptist Church.  He enters his senior season as a team captain and Coach Mike Anderson has called Tiller the “heart and soul” of Missouri basketball.

Community

Tiller has volunteered in several areas for Mizzou basketball.  He has served at Mizzou basketball camps, served Thanksgiving dinner for families in Columbia the last three years and volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club.  Also, Tiller has volunteered with the University of Missouri Children’s Hospital, the Special Olympics and played a vital role in the organization of a free basketball youth clinic at Douglass Park in downtown Columbia, Mo.

Competition

Tiller was recognized as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the year in 2009 by league coaches and media and was an All-Big 12 honorable mention by the Big 12 coaches.  He was a member of the 2009 NCAA All-West Regional team and was the CBS Player of the Game in the Sweet 16 game versus #2 Memphis.  A team leader in assists and steals in 2009, Tiller was a member of the 2009 National All-Defensive team and a captain of the Seth Davis (Sports Illustrated) National All-Glue team.  He is a 2009-10 preseason John Wooden Award nominee and was named to the preseason National All-Defensive team by ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla.
