Kalani Brown earned Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll honors in 2015.
Character
Brown is a leader on and off the floor. As a senior with a large group of freshmen including two post players, Brown has used her experience and expertise to encourage the young players.
Community
Brown has volunteered at a Math for Early Learners Academy and has read to St. Phillip’s Academy students in Dallas.
Competition
Brown is an eight-time All-American: WBCA All-American (2018, 2017), Sports Illustrated All-America First Team, USBWA All-America Second Team, Associated Press All-America Second Team, ESPNW All-America Second Team, USA Today Sports All-America Second Team and Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American (2017).
In 2018, Brown received the following honors: Big 12 Player of the Year, All-Big 12 First Team and Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Player. She also earned Big 12 All-Championship Team honors, was a finalist for the John R. Wooden Award, a Citizen Naismith Trophy Player of the Year semi-finalist, one of the Lisa Leslie Award Final Five, and was tabbed to the Wade Trophy Midseason Watch List.
In 2017, she was named to the NCAA Oklahoma City Regional All-Tournament Team, Coaches’ All-America Team Regional Finalist, All-Big 12 First Team and All-Defensive Team, and was tabbed to the Naismith Trophy Watch List.
Aside from her accolades, she averaged a double-double as a junior with 20.1 ppg. and 10.2 rebounds per game. She enters her season with the top career field goal percentage in Lady Bear history (.649).
