Classroom

Campbell is a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection with a 3.78 GPA. She is also a three-time recipient of the Shirley Becker Academic Award. She is a Dean’s List and DePaul Athletics Honor Roll student.

Character

Campbell’s combination of character, community service and dedication to helping others earned her recognition in one of the sports world’s most prestigious honors. She was a semifinalst for the John Wooden Citizen Cup Award, open to all male and female collegiate and pro athletes. She spent parts of two summers working at orphanages for abandoned and at-risk children in Guatelmala and the Dominican Republic. It was such a fulfilling experience that during the second year, Campbell returned as the leader of the nine student-athletes participating. Revealing a glimpse into Campbell’s character, she has quietly gone off on her own numerous times to work at the St. Vincent de Paul Church food pantry to help feed the homeless. Campbell never tells anybody she is going, as she does not want to make a big deal out of something we all should be doing.

Community

In addition to the service trips to Central America, Campbell has volunteered for Special Olympics sports clinics, Special Olympics All-Sports Day, the Special Olympics 50th anniversary celebration and Day of Inclusion at Soldier Field. She has also cooked food at the Sheffield Garden Walk to raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul, worked the Misericordia Home candy drive, the Chicago Park District Fitness Fest for underprivileged children, Hoops in the Hood and St. Vincent de Paul Service Day. For four years, Campbell has made blankets for underprivileged children at the St. Vincent de Paul Day Care Center and has also worked as a Chicago Marathon volunteer.

Competition

Campbell is a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection who was No. 5 in the nation last season in assist/turnover ratio. In 2018-19, Campbell was a Street & Smith Preseason All-American, a top 10 finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award and selected to the Naismith Trophy Watch List. She was chosen for the 2018 All-BIG EAST First Team and named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team her first year. The two-time All-BIG EAST Tournament selection came within one assist of becoming the first BIG EAST player to record back-to-back triple-doubles. Perhaps the best example of Campbell’s firece competitive nature is that despite possessing minimal vertical leap, this 5’10 point guard is one of the most feared rebounders in the BIG EAST with opposing coaches designing game plans to keep her off the boards.
