Kelsea Seymour

Classroom

Seymour works as hard in the classroom as she does on the floor. She is a physical education licensure major with a 3.699 GPA. Seymour was named to the Conference USA All-Academic team in 2010 while receiving C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll accolades for the third consecutive year.

Character

Seymour is truly a unique, outstanding individual who has tremendous character. She is a true leader and everyone feeds off of her positive energy. People look up to her because she has the ability to look on the bright side when faced with challenging situations. She is an encouraging teammate with intrinsic motivation to be successful. She always wants to get better on the court and be a better person off the court.

Community

Seymour truly enjoys giving back to the community. She spends a lot of her free time volunteering and is always the first one to sign up for community service projects. She understands that there are less fortunate people in this world and she truly wants to better their lives. Seymour has taken many trips abroad to help children in other countries. She has brought children supplies, given them medical attention and taught them lifelong lessons. These trips have expanded her mind and helped her to understand different cultures. Overall, she is a well-rounded individual with a very bright future ahead.

Competition

Seymour is a two-time Conference USA First Team selection. She was named C-USA Co-Setter of the Year in 2009, helping Southern Miss win its first regular season conference title in the program’s history. She earned first team AVCA All-Midwest Region first team honors last season and was an AVCA honorable mention All-American for the last two years. She currently ranks fourth all-time in assists and is on track to become just the second player at Southern Miss to record over 4,000 assists in a career.
