Classroom

Luna has a 4.0 grade point average in psychology. She was named an ESPN The Magazine Second-Team Academic All-American (2009) and an ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-District V selection twice. She was the Prairie Farms Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2009) and won the Sophomore Academic Excellence Award from the ISU Psychology Department. She is a multiple Dean’s List honoree, a MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team (2009) and MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team (2008) selection. She was awarded the MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award twice and has been a member of the MVC Academic Honor Roll since 2006 and the Indiana State Athletic Director’s Honor Roll every semester as well.

Character

Luna was given the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Good Neighbor Award (2009) and has rehabilitated a torn ACL suffered midway through her junior season - her second such injury.

Community

Luna has participated in several community service projects as a Habitat for Humanity participant, a counselor at St. Joseph’s High School basketball camps, a teacher’s assistant at St. Monica Elementary School, a counselor at Sanctuary Kamp and a captain of the Saving Sally for Memory Walk (fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease).

Competition

Heading into the 2009-10 season, Luna was tabbed as a preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference selection. She was first team All-MVC as a junior and was the MVC Freshman of the Year in 2007. Entering the 2009-10 season, she needs just 18 points to reach the 1,000 career points milestone. Her .394 career 3-point field goal percentage (207-525) is third-best in the history of the program. She has hit 207 career 3-pointers, which is third-best in program best and 14th-best in MVC history. Luna averaged 12.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in the last three seasons.
