Classroom

Kevin is a business finance major with a sports studies minor. He is a two-time Hockey East All-Academic team selection in the highly competitive Paul College of Business and Economics.

Character

Kevin is a role model on and off the ice. He is well respected by his teammates and fellow competitors. Described by his coach as a very unselfish player, Kevin is often setting us his teammates before looking for his own shot.

Community

Kevin is an active member in the UNH and greater Durham community. He has participated in each of the past three seasons in the Reading Across America initiative. In addition, Kevin has been involved with several events through the UNH SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee). He has been part of the Pease’s Greeters program, a program where soldiers are greeted after active duty. Kevin and the Wildcats also have adopted a new team member Andrew Silsby through the Friends of Jaclyn program. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (FOJ), a charitable non-profit organization that strives to enhance and strengthen the support system built around children with pediatric brain tumors. Through the program, adopted children become part of the team and build unique friendships. In addition, the team is involved in the Soles for Soles shoe drive, a volleyball tournament that raises funds for cancer research and a basketball tournament that helps fight hunger.

Competition

Through 27 games on the season, Goumas has recorded 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points. Two of his goals have come on the power play. Through 12 Hockey East conference games, Goumas has a pair goals and nine assists for 11 points. He is tied for the lead in plus/minus with a rating of +15 and leads the team in shots-on-goal with 84. He surpassed the 100-career point mark on Nov. 2 with an assist. He now has 124 career points stemming from 25 goals and 69 assists.

Kevin was a Hockey East Honorable Mention All-Star in 2012-13, when he skated in 38 of 39 games and recorded 42 points on 10 goals and 32 assists to lead the team in both assists and points as well as lead Hockey East in assists. He ranked No. 6 in the nation in assists per game and No. 18 in points per game.

As a sophomore in 2012, Kevin recorded 34 points (9g, 25a) in 36 games. He finished his freshman season with 18 points (6g, 12a).

His other accolades include Hockey East All-Academic Team (2011 and 2013) and UNH’s Guy Smith Award (best offensive forward- 2013). Kevin currently has 98 career points (27g, 71a). His career highs include three goals and five points at Denver (Nov. 24, 2012) as well as four assists vs. Alabama-Huntsville (Nov. 26, 2011).
