Kiana Palacios is an education science major who has remained diligent with her studies even during trips with the national team to countries such as Honduras, Sweden and Papua New Guinea.

Community

Palacios is involved in many community outreach events such as providing relief and support for those in need dealing with Hurricane Harvey. She also takes part in clinics put on for Soccer for Hope and Harper for Kids.

Competition

Palacios has been named second-team All-West Region (2016) and is a two-time All-Big West honoree (second-team in 2015 and first-team in 2016). She led the nation halfway through the 2016 season in goals (9) and points (23) and became the 12th Anteater to eclipse 20 career goals and 50 career points. She has 8 career game-winning goals, is the active leader in career starts with 53 and is the team leader in goals, game-winning goals, shots, shots on target and points in each of last two years. She also has been the Big West Player of the Week (Sept. 4, 2017) and is a two-time preseason All-Big West member.

Palacios has joined the Mexican Senior Women’s National Team over the past year, the first Big West Conference player to do so while still actively playing. She trained with the under-20 national team over the past few years including competing in World Cup qualifiers and the under-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea where the squad reached the quarterfinals. She scored three goals each in the World Cup qualifiers and under-20 Women’s World Cup.
