Classroom

Kiki Stokes is a three-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll as a child, youth and family studies major. Stokes’ work in the classroom also helped her earn a Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award and a pair of appointments to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Character

Stokes is serving as a Nebraska team captain for the second straight season. She earned a Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award in 2015, which is awarded based on exceptional leadership, consistent and dedicated community service and positive influence on the team.

Community

Stokes was named to Nebraska’s Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in both 2014 and 2015, the award’s first two years of existence. To be eligible for the team,a student-athlete must complete six community service/leadership projects in the academic calendar year and remain in good academic standing. Stokes has volunteered her time at more than 35 community outreach events. She has been especially active with youth, including serving as a speaker at several local youth conventions and pep rallies.

Competition

Stokes was named a third-team All-American in 2015, becoming only the second Husker outfielder to earn All-America recognition. Additionally, Stokes was a first-team All-Region honoree, a first-team All-Big Ten selection, and she earned a spot on the Big Ten Tournament Team. Stokes was one of only six players nationally to record 10 home runs and five triples in 2015, and she also earned a .407 batting average that ranked sixth in school history. Stokes set Nebraska records with 66 runs, 17 hit-by-pitches and a .532 on-base percentage in 2015. She also became just the second Husker to produce 60 hits and 60 runs in the same season, while becoming one of four players in school history to total 50 hits, 50 runs and 50 RBIs in the same season. Stokes finished her junior season with 72 hits in 58 games, including nine doubles and five triples, while also drawing 34 walks, stealing 18 bases and driving in 51 runs.
