Classroom

Salvarola has maintained a 3.87 GPA throughout her four years at USF. She has been awarded certificates of completion for two internships and will be participating in her final internship in the fall of 2014, when she will also be graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Salvarola was named an academic All-American in 2013.

Character

Salvarola has been a four-year starter and has worked tirelessly to become a leader on and off the field for the Bulls. She earned a spot on the USA Softball Women’s National Team after last season (one of only 18 players selected) due in large part to her leadership abilities and positive attitude towards the sport. She has also proven the ability to handle a heavy load and still be there for her family, friends and teammates. On top of being a full-time student and softball player, Salvarola has completed two full-day teaching internships while maintaining a 3.87 GPA. Salvarola will be one of the senior leaders and a captain on this year’s team.

Community

Salvarola has dedicated much of her time to numerous community service activities and other events throughout her career. She attended a neighborhood clean-up at the Tampa community center, volunteered to help the homeless at the Metropolitan Ministries and gave her time to battered women and children at the Alpha House of Tampa. On top of those, she has also attended several other small community service activities such as USF’s Stampede of Service.

Competition

Salvarola has been the Bulls top offensive player for the past two seasons and ranks in the top 10 all-time at USF in numerous offensive categories including RBI and home runs. She led the team in every major offensive category last season and was named NFCA Mideast All-Region first team. She was also a first team All-BIG EAST unanimous selection. She set a school record with three home runs in one game on March 24 against Rutgers and belted a career-high 13 in 2013. After the season she was also named to the USA Softball Women’s National Team and helped lead the team to a gold medal at the Pan American Games qualifier. As a sophomore she helped lead the team to the Women’s College World Series for the first time in program history and was a first team All-BIG EAST selection as well as an NFCA Mideast All-Region second team selection. She started all 64 games and led the team in batting average (.324). During her freshman campaign in 2011, Salvarola started all 53 games and finished second on the team in slugging percentage (.510), runs (42), home runs (6) and doubles (8).
