A biology major with double minors in business administration and biotechnology, Kyle Mummau boasts a 3.75 GPA. He is a three-time NEC Academic Honor Roll selection and was named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll on one occasion. Mummau has posted term GPAs of over 3.9 three times and over 3.5 in six of seven semesters, and is a seven-time dean’s list honoree. Mummau also serves as a peer tutor within Bryant’s Academic Center for Excellence in the subjects of biology, microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, microeconomics and calculus. He earned a Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship at the University of Rhode Island in 2016 and completed an internship with Genentech in 2015.

Character

Kyle Mummau is a senior captain for the Bulldogs and has commanded the utmost respect from his teammates and coaching staff alike throughout his four years on campus. A leader by example, Mummau is a SAAC representative who is active in the committee’s initiatives throughout the year. A dependable and reliable teammate, student and citizen, Mummau overcame a season-ending injury as a sophomore to once again dominate at his position as a junior, earning All-League First Team honors both seasons.

Community

A Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member for three years, Mummau heads Bryant’s Minis for Many initiative, in which student-athletes collect travel toiletries from hotels throughout their roadtrip travels to donate to a local homeless shelter. He participates in many SAAC community service events, including Rhode Island Special Olympics, Money Wars, food bank donations and other initiatives.

Competition

A two-time All-NEC First Team selection, Mummau is a 2017 USILA Preseason Honorable Mention All-American who is a four-year starter on defense for the Bulldogs. Consistently the team’s top cover defenseman, he has started every game of his career and ranks inside the program’s top-12 for career caused turnovers and caused turnovers per game entering his senior season. He is the cornerstone of a Bryant defense known to be among the best in the NEC and throughout the nation. Mummau was also named to the NEC All-Rookie Team as a freshman.
