Character

On the court, Leindecker is a three-time team captain, serving in that role since her sophomore year and is often the team representative during athletic functions. Through her role with SAAC as the current president and a former officer, she also serves as a representative for the America East Conference, being chosen as the league representative at the 2016 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Phoenix.

Leindecker has been an active member of her community at UAlbany and back home in Ohio. At UAlbany, she is the president of SAAC, helping organize numerous events, including the toiletry drive, Adopt-a-Family and the UAlbany-chapter of the America East Food Frenzy. She also has gone on missions in Ohio, New York and West Virginia.

Competition

The leader of the Great Danes since sophomore year as team captain, Leindecker was the America East Co-Player of the Year last season and is a two-time America East All-Conference First Team selection. A six-rotation player, she is on pace to be the third UAlbany player in program history to earn 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. She led UAlbany to the conference regular season title last year plus a pair of America East Tournament final matches in 2014 and 2015. She was second in kills per set as a sophomore and first as a junior.
