Classroom

Lazo has maintained a 3.2 GPA in the Psychology department during her time at Princeton University. She has aspirations of continuing her education to receive either a Ph.D or Psy.D in clinical psychology, all with the hopes of either opening her own practice to treat children suffering from mental illness or use her knowledge to serve her country working for the CIA or FBI.

Character

Lazo will serve as a captain for the upcoming season. In summer 2014, Lazo obtained a marketing internship with Paramount Citrus where she worked alongside those far more experienced within the industry. While working for Paramount Citrus, Lazo played soccer with the LA Blues, a W-League team that went on to win its league title for the summer.

Community

Lazo is a member of the Princeton Varsity Student Athlete Advisory Committee which attempts to bridge the gap between athletes and administrators. The committee seeks to enhance the Princeton student-athlete experience by providing student-athletes with a voice within the athletic department regarding both athletic and academic issues, as well as working with institutional representatives to develop appropriate improvements.  Lazo is also a member of Best Buddies on campus, which facilitates the creation of friendships between Princeton students and those within the community that have autism.  During a freshman seminar class, she had the opportunity to spend 1-on-1 time with a local teen from her professors private practice. Through the Princeton Varsity Club, Lazo has helped to reconstruct a YMCA, read to children in Trenton, help families affected by Hurricane Sandy, and annually aid in setting up the Community of Lights, which is a fundraiser to help abused women.

Competition

Lazo is a three-time All-Ivy League honoree, earning first-team honors in 2012, second-team recognition in 2013 and honorable mention in 2011. She was an NSCAA second-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region honoree in 2012, a season that saw her score a career-best 11 goals, standing second on the team that year, while adding five assists. For her career, she has 20 goals and 16 assists, putting her 12th in program history in career goals heading into her final season and tied for fifth in career assists. Lazo stands ninth in program history with 56 points, playing in 50 games of a possible 53 and starting 49.
