Leighton owns a 4.0 GPA in Aviation Management which is a very high level curriculum at Middle Tennessee. Has been a member of the Commissioner’s Honor Roll every semester and earned the Dr. Sidney McPhee Academic Honor in the spring.

Community
Completed an internship at NASA during the summer of 2014 ... Works with Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, area Boys Scouts, and Reading Raiders.

Has played in 37 career games and currently ranks 3rd all-time in quarterback sacks ... Has led team three straight years in sacks ... Has 18.5 tackles for loss.
