Libby Sugg is currently studying exercise and wellness at Brigham Young University. She has been named to the West Coast Conference Commissioner’s Bronze Honor Roll in 2016, 2017 and 2018 as well as being named to the WCC All-Academic Team in 2018. After she graduates she hopes to go to occupational therapy school.

Character

A two-time team captain for the BYU softball team, Sugg has an outstanding work ethic. She not only leads on the field, but off the field as well. “She has the kind of work ethic and character you would want any player to have,” BYU Head Coach Gordin Eakin said. She is trustworthy, hard-working and accountable to her team.

Community

Sugg is a member of the BYU Student Athlete Advisory Council and the Service Committee. On the committee she helps plan service opportunities for student-athletes to do at BYU. In March, they will gather student-athletes and make sack lunches for the homeless. They also plan and execute other service opportunities for the athletes to participate in throughout the year.

Competition

Named an NFCA Third Team All-American after the 2018 season, Sugg led BYU in batting average (.414), RBIs (67), hits (65), doubles (13), home runs (11), slugging percentage (.707) and on-base percentage (.500). In the BYU record books, Sugg ranks No. 2 in on-base percentage (.455), No. 3 in career slugging percentage (.700), No. 5 in career RBIs (181), No. 6 in career home runs (42), No. 7 in career batting average (.362) and No. 10 in career doubles (35). The senior catcher, who started all 58 games last season, earned many 2018 postseason awards including NCAA Eugene All-Region Team, NFCA All-Pacific Second Team and All-WCC First Team.
