Classroom

Cumulative grade point average of 3.557. Has earned four Superintendent’s Gold Wreaths, an Overall Excellence Award for combined excellence in Academics, Military and Physical Development, has earned four Silver Star Awards for an Annual cumulative GPA at or above 3.0 Has been inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa – Leadership National Honor Society and recognized by Behavioral Science and Leadership Department for design and execution of highly functional corps-wide Social Network Project. Has been a guest speaker at New York University’s symposium on Behavioral Sciences and Leadership and was appointed Cadet Advisor to Behavioral Science and Leadership Department’s Leadership Management Board. Gerheim is a three-time West Point Scholar Athlete Award recipient and a three-time recipient of the Team Outstanding Leader-Athlete Award for combined excellence in Academics, Military and Physical Development. Has been a Dean’s List Student student seven consecutive semesters and will graduate in May 2007 as a second-lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Character

The Army team captain has held several positions high within the Corps of Cadets. She has been the Cadet First Sergeant for Cadet Company C-3, which means she is the highest enlisted person in charge of the 140 Cadets in her Company during the 2005-06 academic year. She was also the Brigade Headquarters Company for the Brigade Staff (70). She is West Point’s representative to the Patriot League for Student athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the 2006-07 academic year. She is a leader on the diamond, in the classroom and within the Corps of Cadets. During the summer of 2006 was the Platoon Leader of an Airborne Military Intelligence Company’s Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV) Platoon in direct support of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Orders to maintain operational readiness to deploy worldwide within 18 hours notification.

Community

Every year the softball team participates in clinics for local youths. Lindsey Gerheim has participated in CPRC, which allows a Cadet to travel home and talk to future cadets, soldiers and veterans. She is also involved in a bible study group. Summer time is spent training either at West Point or other military posts throughout the country.

Competition

Four-time Patriot League Scholar Athlete and is a candidate for 2007 PL Softball Scholar Athlete of the Year. 2007 Senior Team Captain is a three-time Patriot League All-Star at three different positions and candidate to be a four-time all-star as well as vie for 2007 Player of the Year. First team Patriot League selection as DP in 2004 and Second team at outfielder (2005) and second team at shortstop (2006). Was named Patriot League “Rookie of the Year” in 2004 and has been a Two-time Louisville Slugger/National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic All-Region Selection – named to the second team as DP in 2004 and second team as outfielder in 2005. NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Award fall of 2006. ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 1 First Team (2005).
