Classroom

Louie Belpedio is a three-time member of the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team and has led the team in the classroom as well as on the ice throughout his career. He is on pace to graduate with a degree in sport leadership and management.

Character

No play has been more iconic for Miami hockey in Belpedio’s time in Oxford than his effort in the 2015 NCAA Tournament against Providence. Trailing 6-5 late, Belpedio hustled back and dove to swat a puck away as it started sliding into Miami’s empty net, crashing shoulder first into the boards in the process. Since then, Belpedio has worn a letter on his jersey in the subsequent three seasons, including the captain’s C in the last two campaigns.

Community

Like the rest of the Miami hockey team, Belpedio spends time in the community, making stops at retirement communities, spending time with children at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, being ambassadors for inclusion through the You Can Play Project, along with other endeavors in which the team is involved.

Competition

Belpedio is a two-time All-NCHC Honorable Mention selection who entered the 2017-18 season with 47 points (15 goals, 32 assists) in 83 career games. He helped the RedHawks claim the 2015 NCHC Frozen Faceoff crown while earning a No. 1 seed in the subsequent NCAA Tournament.
