Luke Hanson

Classroom

Hanson, who graduated with a 3.95 GPA, is a member of both the Epsilon Sigma Fi and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Societies. He earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in three semesters and is a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree.

He is a finalist for the prestigious Gunn Medal, which is the highest academic designation at Manhattan College. During his academic career, Hanson spent time as an intern with Konica Minolta Business Solutions.

Hanson is currently attending graduate school, with aspirations of attaining his Master of Business Administration in Finance/Economics.

Character

Hanson is the first-ever four-year captain at Manhattan, serving since his sophomore year.

He has also worked as a tutor for the Manhattan College Center for Academic Success. Hanson was named Mr. Jasper, which is bestowed to the student-athlete that excels in the classroom and on the field.

Community

Hanson helped lead the men’s lacrosse team in its clean-up efforts in Riverdale, New York. He has also participated in the Central Park Breast Cancer Walk, the Tunnel 2 Towers Run, Team Impact, and St. Baldrick’s fundraisers.

Competition

Hanson is one of the top offensive threats in the MAAC. During the shortened 2020 season, he ranked second in the MAAC with 2 assists per game. He also picked up seven ground balls, scored two goals, and had a team-best 12 assists.

For his efforts on the field, Hanson was named MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after tying a league-record nine assists against Wagner (2/22). In a win against NJIT (2/15), Hanson had two ground balls, two assists, and a goal.

In 2019, Hanson paced the squad in scoring with 37 points, tallying 25 assists and 12 goals. His 25 assists are tied for the second-most by a Jasper in school history, while his 1.71 apg were also second in the MAAC. During that campaign, Hanson also picked up 26 ground balls.
