Macy Miller is a two-time Summit League All-Academic pick, a Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence recipient and a Distinguished Scholar on the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.
Character
Miller was named 2016-17 The Summit League Preseason Player of the Year, played nine games and then suffered a season-ending injury. From the sidelines, the future strength and conditioning coach took the underclassmen under her wings and became another coach for the Jackrabbits. With a selfless personality, she balances being the center of attention with a humble demeanor.
Community
Miller has been a SAAC officer for two years, helping to raise more than 40,000 pounds of food for the local food pantry. She also reads books to elementary students in the Brookings community. As a member of the Brookings FCA, Miller packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child and went on a mission trip to Belize where she cleaned churches, ran sports camps and ran a Bible school.
Competition
Miller was named the 2017-18 Summit League Player of the Year. She also was named The Summit League Tournament MVP and to the all-tournament team twice. The three-time Summit League all-league pick including first-team in both 2016 and 2018, and was also named to the 2014-15 Summit League All-Newcomer team. The Mitchell, S.D., native, led The Summit League in scoring and was top 10 in six of 14 stat categories. Miller scored in double-digits in 31 of 33 games and had 14 20-plus point games last year. She is an eight-time Summit Player of the Week and four-time CollegeInsider Summit League Player of the Week. She is likely to become The Summit League and SDSU all-time scorer and become the first Jackrabbit in program history to score 2,000 career points.
