Marnie is a biochemistry major that boasts a 3.85 cumulative GPA. In August 2019, Skinner attended the American Chemical Society Conference in San Diego, CA and presented her work in the fundamental research in colloids, surfaces, and nanomaterials poster presentation session. She also received an award for her outstanding presentation skills. Skinner is a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection.

Character

Skinner is a senior leader on the Gaels roster.

Coach Jansson on Marnie: “Marnie is a true leader in our program. She is someone that the coaching staff can always count on to bring out the best in her teammates and to work her absolute hardest. Her teammates rely on her to be a calming presence in the dugout and dominant force in the circle. Marnie puts the needs of the team before her own and wants to see her teammates succeed. Her positive attitude, as well as incredible work ethic, have led her to all the success and recognition she has received.”

Community

Skinner has volunteered with her team at various different events such as the Montgomery House on campus, the HLAA Walk, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and more.

Competition

Skinner earned postseason honors in each of her first two seasons and added preseason recognition to her resume last year. Skinner was a 2017 MAAC All-Rookie selection, an All-MAAC Second Team honoree in 2018, and a 2019 Preseason All-MAAC selection as a pitcher. Skinner has won at least 9 games in each of the past two seasons and struck out 69 batters in 2018 and 2019.
