Mathias Lange

Classroom

Mathias currently maintains a Cumulative GPA of 3.76 while pursuing a Management major and a Sports Psychology minor.  He has been listed on the Dean’s List every semester and has earned multiple ECAC Hockey All-Academic honors.  He is a member of EDS – the Management Honor Society and is bilingual: German and English.

Character

Lange is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Community

A Troy-Albany Youth Hockey Association volunteer, Mathias coordinated his senior class purchasing eight season tickets for all home games to be distributed to unprivileged children including a locker room tour and autographed programs.  He is also a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Kids’ Day volunteer and a three-time American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life participant.  This season, Lange has added the ECAC Hockey Adopt-A-Player program to his list of community efforts.

Competition

In 2007-08, Lange was named ECAC Goalie of the Week twice and was a member of the Rensselaer Invitational All-Tournament and Tampa Bay College Hockey Classic All Tournament Teams.  That same season, he was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.  Mathias maintains the school record for ties with 16, and is third in school history in starts with 85 (5 from 3rd place).  Lange holds other spots in the school record books as he ranks fourth in games played by a goaltender with 90 and minutes with 5174:47.  Mathias also earned ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors on January 12th.
