Matt Breida is a member of the Eagle Honor Roll and is on track to graduate this fall with a degree in accounting.
Character
Breida was called “one of the best people I’ve ever been around” by Head Coach Tyson Summers. He’s a team captain who lets his actions do the talking and does things the right way.
Community
Breida has been involved with reading to local elementary school students both in Statesboro and back home in the Tampa area. He was raised by adoptive parents who both are physically handicapped and he is vocal about the effect they have had on his life.
Competition
Breida led the nation in rushing yards per carry the past two seasons. He is a two-time first-team All-Sun Belt recipient and a nominee for the Doak Walker Award, Lombardi Award and Maxwell Trophy. Breida led the Eagles with 1,608 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns last year and has over 3,100 career rushing yards entering his senior season.
