Matt DeLuca

Classroom

Matt has a 3.202 cumulative GPA and received Dean’s List honors twice. He is a five-time CAA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient. Matt interned at the prestigious Eklund Gomes Real Estate company in Miami in Summer 2019.

Character

Matt is a two-time team captain. He coached two youth leagues during the summer at home in New York.

Head Coach Ben DeLuca calls Matt a “terrific role model and great example for our underclassmen.”

Community

Matt helped plan a clinic at Ferris, a local mention center for troubled juveniles. He is a mentor at local McVey Elementary school, where he set up a weekly reading program for the lacrosse program. There are four or five members of the team that visit each week to read to the students. He is a member of the committee that helped plan One Love campaign, including selling t-shirts and putting together workshops. Matt helped raise money through Dance and Reps 4 Kids for B+ foundation, an organization that raises money for families dealing with pediatric cancer.

Competition

Matt is a Preseason First Team All-American by USILA and Inside Lacrosse. He was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2019. He is a three-time All-Conference performer. ScMattott ranked in the Top-10 in the country in GAA and save percentage in 2019. He ranks in the top-10 in program history in GAA, total saves, and save percentage.
