Meggie Dougherty Howard was a member of the 2014 and 2015 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Rolls. She also was selected to the 2014 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. Dougherty Howard is on pace to graduate in December of 2016 with a degree in management.

Character

Dougherty Howard is the University of Florida’s soccer team co-captain for 2016.

Community

Dougherty Howard turned in more than 25 hours of Goodwill Gators (community service) so far during her collegiate career. The activities in which she has participated include several visits to local elementary schools to speak or play games with the students, serving as a counselor at Climb for Cancer (children with or recovering from cancer spend morning playing games with Gator student-athletes) and visits to Girls’ Place to play with the young girls.

Competition

Dougherty Howard is tied for fourth among active NCAA career leaders with 77 games played (as of Sept. 11, 2016). She picked up 2015 second-team honors for both NSCAA All-South Region and All-Southeastern Conference. She led the SEC with 13 assists in 2015, which also tied for fourth in Division I. She is one of three Gators on the 2016 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. She also is a member of U.S. Under-23 National Team, starting two of three matches played the 2015 U-23 Four Nation’s Tournament.
