Mikey Wynne holds a cumulative grade-point average of 3.15 entering his final semester at Notre Dame. He is majoring in film, television and theatre with a concentration in television studies and a pursuing a minor in business economics. He has done summer internships in Los Angeles in the entertainment industry and in Baltimore with the Ravens over the past few years at Notre Dame.

Character

Wynne is a leader both on and off the lacrosse field and was selected as a captain for the 2018 season. He is heavily involved with Notre Dame’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council, as he has served as the vice president, and he is currently on the executive board. He was selected to be a part of Notre Dame’s Rosenthal Leadership Academy designed for student athletes and is involved in Notre Dame Christian Athletes and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Community

Wynne has spent time serving as a mentor at Dickinson Intermediate Fine Arts Academy, which is a local middle school. The senior has also worked with OWLS Lacrosse and Harlem Lacrosse, hosting clinics and working with underprivileged youth. He was selected to serve on a steering committee at Notre Dame through which he worked with five other student athletes, the athletic director and coaches to come up with athlete time demands legislation. Wynne also leads a Bible study on the team with one other teammate.

Competition

Wynne has scored 106 career goals entering the the 2018 season, ranking seventh for career goals in Notre Dame program history. He has started every game of his career with the Irish and has led Notre Dame in goals in each of the last two seasons. He has recorded 20 hat tricks over his three seasons and helped lead the Irish to three straight quarterfinal appearances in the NCAA Championship, including a trip to the semifinals his freshman year.
