Classroom

Meyer has a 3.53 GPA in business administration, with multiple academic honors. Last season Meyer was an Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team selection. In May 2009, she was placed on the School of Business Administration Honors Dean’s List. To date, Meyer has been selected to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll five times. During both the 2007-2008 and the 2008-2009 seasons Meyer was selected as the NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.

Character

Being a member of multiple teams, clubs, and organizations has given Meyer a chance to improve her leadership abilities. For the past three seasons she has been voted captain of the Dayton softball team.  After working her way through various divisions of Tasty Catering, a Chicago-based catering company, Meyer worked as an intern in its marketing department last summer. While working for Tasty Catering she captained the remote marketing team, routed design work through St. Louis and New Jersey, and collaborated with team members across the country to complete marketing initiatives. She was an integral part of a $100,000 marketing campaign that included the production of billboards, the creation of on line marketing promotions, and the redesigning of a fleet of company trucks and vans. Along with marketing and promotions, Meyer also collaborated closely with the owner, assisting him with presentations to potential clients. She continues to work remotely for the company, specializing in social marketing and copywriting. Meyer has also lent her skills to DePaul University. At DePaul she worked on a feasibility study for the MBA Capstone Team, researching the potential for a residential division. In September the residential division was implemented and has exceeded expectations.

Community

Meyer is a three-year member and two-term Vice President of the University of Dayton Optimist Club. The Optimist Club is an international organization that is dedicated to serving the youth and strives to support and fund the Childhood Cancer Campaign. As Vice President, Meyer is responsible for communicating with outside organizations, organizing volunteering and fund raising events, and is the group liaison to their parent organization, the Centerville Noon Optimist Club. Since her appointment as Vice President, the club has increased from 20 members to more than 80 and serves the greater Dayton community with more than 300 collective community service hours per semester.

Competition

For the third consecutive season Meyer has earned All-Atlantic 10 accolades. Her freshman season she was selected to the Atlantic 10 All Rookie team and in both her sophomore and junior seasons she was named Atlantic 10 Honorable mention. During the 2009 season she crushed the Dayton single season and career record books for runs scored with 46, which ranked 22nd in the NCAA National Ranking Summary. Meyer led the Flyers in batting average for the third straight year with a .364 mark and also led the Flyers in hits, runs scored, doubles, triples, total bases, and stolen bases. These numbers ranked her third in the Atlantic 10 for batting average and runs scored and fifth in doubles.
