Classroom

Reid is pursuing degrees in Physical Education for Teacher Preparation and School Health Education. These majors embrace her love of athletics and passion for working with children. Her dream is to become a physical education teacher at the conclusion of her playing career. She has been named to the Athletic Director’s honor roll twice and was a member of the 2011-2012 Big East all-academic team.

Character

Reid has earned the respect among her peers and coaches through her hard work and dedication to excellence. She understands the concept of teamwork and works well with others to accomplish common goals. Reid is a leader both on and off the court.

Community

Being a hometown player, Reid is very invested in the Louisville community. She grew up a product of the Salvation Army’s Portland Boys & Girls Club and has volunteered her time going to speak to them as well as doing a PSA for them. After learning sign language in class, she volunteered at a local sign-language camp. She regularly speaks at middle schools to help mentor young children and has gone to elementary schools to read to the classes as part of their reading programs. She has also participated in the Diabetes and Heart Walks held in Louisville. She also participates in a program that helps mentor girls at the Maryhurst home. Additionally, Reid has volunteered at the Center for Women and Families and participated in the Bring Peace Home program sponsored by the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Competition

As a junior, Reid earned first-team All-Big East honors after leading her team with 15.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Reid enters her senior season as a preseason All-Big East selection and on the Wade Trophy watch list. She is currently ranked 10th all-time in Louisville scoring with 1,345 career points.
