Classroom

Norris was named to the NSCAA Women’s College Scholar All-America Team, earning third-team recognition in 2011. She also earned first-team all-West Region honors last season, posting a 3.94 GPA in nutrition and food sciences to help lead the Aggies not only in the classroom, but also helping Utah State capture the NSCAA Team Academic Award after posting a 3.43 grade point average. This is the ninth-straight year that the Aggies have been honored with the NSCAA award. In addition, she is a three-time academic all-WAC honoree.

Character

Norris is a two-year captain who is an all-around student-athlete. Whether or not it is on the field, in the classroom or around the community, she is a leader. As a double major in nutrition, dietetics and food science and exercise science, Norris has shown commitment in the class room. As a two-time WAC Defensive Player of the Year, she has shown dedication on the field. She also has volunteered at both the Ronald McDonald House and helped with nutrition at local middle schools. She is a complete student-athlete who has made her presence felt at Utah State.

Community

Norris has participated in the following community service projects: Holiday Lanes (tree decorating)- 3 years; Infinity Clinics and soccer camps for 3 years- every spring at least 4 a semester; helped out in elementary schools- reading, playing games, and helping in classrooms (3 different schools); reading day at La Familia De Utah; volunteer/donator to Ronald McDonald house; religious group service weekly for community; fruits and veggies scans/presentations in middle schools for nutrition; volunteer at Schrieber’s Health Fair; summer recreation sports day volunteer nutrition internship working on making packets/presentations for student-athletes to help them with how many calories, carbs, protein, fat and water to take in, along with timing, hydration, and quality of food.

Competition

Norris is a two-time first-team all-WAC honoree in 2010 and 2011, a two-time WAC Defensive Player of the Year and 2012 WAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. She was part of the USU defense that allowed only 15 goals last season. She scored four goals last season for eight points which was fourth on the team in goals scored. Three of her four goals were game-wining goals. She earned all-West Region honors in 2010 and 2011, has six career goals and has started 64 matches in three years at USU.
