Character

He chose to come back to Dartmouth for his senior season and is a sixth generation legacy at Dartmouth as his father, mother, uncle, grandfather and great uncles all attended Dartmouth. His father was the leading scorer in 1977 and his uncle was team captain in 1973. Johnson was chosen as team captain after original team captain left school early to go to the NHL.
Community
Johnson has been a participant all four years with Dartmouth’s Skate with the Big Green in which family and children are encouraged to spend an afternoon skating with the team. He has made regular trips to the Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) delivering toys, has helped with several youth clinics at local schools and has participated in Dartmouth’s Kids and Cops and Big Green Readers.

Johnson was given Dartmouth’s Booma Award, which is presented to the team’s top rookie. He is currently fourth in ECAC Hockey in goals per game and is first in power play goals. He is a member of Dartmouth’s power play unit that is ranked eighth nationally and first in ECAC Hockey. As a junior, Johnson played in all 33 games for the Big Green and was third in scoring with 30 points. He recorded 10 multiple-point games and had three four-game scoring streaks. He had his best game with three points in a win over Quinnipiac late in the season.
