Classroom

Patrick Andrews graduated May 8, 2015, with a degree in mechanical engineering and is a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member.

Character

Andrews has shown great character as a leader on the team and is one of three ACC student-athletes chosen in November 2014 to hold voting power on proposed governance rule changes under the NCAA’s Division I autonomy process. He attended the NCAA Convention in January 2015 as one of 80 voting members—one of only three ACC student-athletes—on legislation proposals and also attended the NCAA Convention in 2016.

Community

Andrews participated in Be a T.I.G.E.R! Field Day with kids on campus, in which he played games on the lawn of Littlejohn Coliseum. He traveled multiple times to local elementary schools to read books to kids in class and traveled multiple times to local children’s hospitals to visit with kids.

Competition

Andrews is a two-time team captain despite suffering devastating injuries that have kept him out of action periodically. A right-hander who has served predominantly as a long-reliever during his career, he has one of the team’s hardest fastballs. In 72.0 innings pitched over 49 appearances (one start) and three seasons, he has a 3-4 record, two saves and a 4.25 ERA while allowing 67 hits (.246 opponents’ batting average) and 27 walks with 54 strikeouts.
