Character

Ford is unquestionably the top student-athlete at UNCG and is a representative at every event when the school wants to put its best foot forward. He will be a two-time team captain and is a natural leader for our program. His leadership and character qualities are unrivaled among all of our teams. He continuously goes above and beyond both on the field, in the classroom and in the community because that is what someone of his character is supposed to do.

Community

Ford is actively involved in the Greensboro and UNCG community. He worked hand-in-hand this past year with Fox 8 Gifts For Kids during the holiday season, which works to provide presents for under-privileged kids. The goal of the program is to make sure every kid in the Triad region has a gift during the holiday season. Ford coordinated members of all teams on campus to be at basketball games and other events collecting toys. Additionally, he was the team captain for his group in the Relay For Life program on campus which helps cancer awareness.

Competition

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Ford has been a three-year starter at UNCG, posting 18 career shutouts in 54 career games. Ford earned Second Team All-Southern Conference honors and was named to the NCCSIA All-State team as a junior. He was second in the SoCon with a 0.70 goals against average with nine shutouts, both numbers ranking third all-time in UNCG single-season history. He was named the SoCon Athlete of the Month in October as he led the Spartans to the regular season championship with a 5-1-1 record and a 0.36 goals against average. He posted a streak of 743:56 minutes of shutout soccer last season, a career-best.
